The single most important thing the most successful people NEVER do first thing in the morning is check their email or their messages.
The reason they give is also very simple (and yet the vast majority of us never thought of it).
They are wise enough to know they MUST start their day on their terms, attending to what they feel is the most important thing of their choosing, not someone else’s.
Admit It, This Happens All the Time!
How many times have you planned out what you are going to do tomorrow, had a good night’s sleep, got up ready to go and then taken a look at your email or checked your voice or text messages, only to then find the day is over, you’re going home and wondering, “What happened to those great plans I made last night? I got nothing done!”
Who Charts the Course for Your Day?
If you start the day by reading your emails, reading your text messages or listening to your voice messages, you have just handed over the most important task you have (charting the course for your day) to everyone and anyone that contacted you.
