Wacom’s Next Digital Sketchpad Concept*
*Hopefully.
Designers, especially designers that sketch, usually come by some pretty strong preferences when it comes to how they sketch and what tools they use. As such, they’re bound to have one foot in the conceptual realm when it comes to ideas about how to optimize the process without killing the creative flow. One need only to look at recent popularity of concepts like Don Lehman’s iPad Stylus Cap, and the anticipated NoteSlate tablet to gauge just how eager sketchers are for new tools.
Designer Derick Schweppe lobbed his concept onto the web this week in the form of combination digitizer and tablet. Running an Android OS, the tablet could pair with a desktop application like Adobe Photoshop, and allow the user to sketch with both a pressure-sensitive stylus and multitouch interface. When on the go, the tablet would have all the features of similar Android tablets, with the added capability of stylus sketching.
