DJ KID AFRIK came to the scene in the summer of 2007. Music has always been a big part of his life. KID AFRIK started hitting the club scene at age 15 and this led to his friends giving him the Nickname DJ Mapson, the name of the Dj of the club he and his friends frequented. While at the club, KID AFRIK spent almost half of the night watching the Dj perform. When he came to Umass in the fall of 2006, he frequented the party scene where the djs never really cared about their crowds. With all these flaws KID AFRIK in the fall of 2007 alongside Abdoulie Senesie aka Mashup, The Dagger Doctor, The Energy God, "My Father" founded Mashup Entertainment, which has become the number one sound system in the Pioneer and looking to conquer the Boston nightlife scene. Because of his versatility and great music selection skills, KID AFRIK has been able to do shows for anybody that requires a Dj. He has also shared the stage with artist such as Ryan Leslie, B.O.B and has dj at premier clubs such as BLVD NIGHTCLUB in New York City and has done shows regularly in the Pioneer Valley, Boston and the Five College area. He goes by the motor " I am here for the people, so I dj for the people"
